Two weeks after the new normal began, and after repeated occasions where the President of the Republic himself has invited the population to leave, the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic continues to increase, with 18,110 deaths registered. This was announced during the afternoon conference today, by the Epidemiology head, José Luis Alomía. Since February, the month in which the first cases of the disease were registered, 154 thousand 863 positive cases have been recorded, with 21 thousand 159 active and 56 thousand 843 suspects. In addition, of the 18 thousand 310 deaths, 463 correspond to health professionals, and 5 thousand 276 active cases among them.

Despite the clear evidence, and that infections have not decreased in the curve (the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell has said since May that the peak will be reached the following week), 16 states of the country will be at a red light (including the State of Mexico) and 16 in orange throughout this week. The states that will change phase are: Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Durango, Zacatecas, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, San Luis, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, Aguascalientes, and Quintana Roo.

Regarding the occupation of hospital beds, Mexico City, the State of Mexico and Guerrero maintain the highest occupation with 73%, 73%, and 60% respectively, while in critical beds, the State of Mexico leads the occupation with 63%, followed by Baja California and Mexico City with 61% respectively.
