Kidney, the most wanted organ for transplants

Once it is transplanted 95% of the organs function correctly on the patient to whom was transplanted, and the kidney’s life goes farther than 5 years.
According to the last report of the National Center of Transplants, from 2010 to 2018 the rate of kidneys transplant increased by 24%. From 2 443 to 3 048. Nevertheless, there are 15 072 people who still are on waiting list.
The academic of the Faculty of Medicine of UNAM, Pedro Trinidad Ramos, said that this situation happens for different reasons. Not all patients are compatible with the donated organ. There are required more High-Specialty Hospitals which do this kind of procedures. And the number of donations needs to increase.
