The State of Mexico’s government paid 2,400 million pesos in the payment of Christmas bonus for its more than 270,000 workers, and the highest paid amount of this right in the governmental structure was for the state’s governor Eruviel Avila, who received 370,080.5 pesos gross, equivalent to 60 days of salary, plus a gratification of 78,734 pesos.
The above means an amount (with the bonus and gratification) of 448,814.5 pesos, whilst for a holiday bonus, he will receive another 25 days of payment. This is happening while the 60% of the population is struggling between poverty and extreme poverty.
