Mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras and the Ecatepec leadership of the Single Union of State and Municipal Workers (Suteym) signed the labor agreement, which contains new guidelines that respect the rights of unionized workers and does not affect the municipal treasury. After intense dialogue and negotiation, the municipal government and the Suteym, represented by the leader of Ecatepec María del Carmen Flores Rodríguez and the state leader Herminio Cahue Calderón, signed this labor agreement, in which both parties undertake to collaborate in different fields of public administration.
Vilchis Contreras said it is a historic event since no one had dared to reach out to establish new guidelines in line with the austerity policy that comes from the federal government. The agreement respects existing benefits, such as the granting of scholarships to the children of workers and vacation bonuses, among other benefits.
“We were able to make this agreement from the beginning of the administration, but the conditions were not adequate. However, now that the leadership of this body has changed, we can collaborate to improve conditions in the municipality under the scheme of zero corruption and austerity, without violating labor rights, ”said Vilchis Contreras.
He said that the administration is going through difficult times due to lack of economic resources, the inheritance of past administrations, despite this the rights of working women and men will be privileged.
He explained that the current administration does not seek a confrontation with the union or the unionized workers, but the unity of the parties to face the current crisis
