Municipal authorities and staff of the Federal Consumer Prosecutor (Profeco) carried out operations in commercial establishments in Ecatepec, in order to respect the prices of products in the basic basket, and notified those in charge of the sanctions that will be applied in case of default.

Verifiers and notifiers from Profeco toured stores, pharmacies, tortillerías, and other establishments in the Izcalli Jardines, Llano de Los Báez, Ciudad Azteca and Aragón neighborhoods, to verify that prices are displayed to the public and do not arbitrarily increase the cost of the basic food basket .

The mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras reported that the local government maintains coordination with Profeco, to which complaints from residents of the municipality about arbitrary price increases in various establishments are made.

Profeco staff informed business managers that they verify their commercial behavior, as established by the Federal Law on Consumer Protection.
