Among the things that make them happiest are: going to the movies, winning the lottery, being able to fly, the cold weather and the Mexican National Team going to the fifth game.

Seven out of ten Mexicans disagree with AMLO when he says that "Mexico is people happy, happy, happy."

Since 2013, the UN has declared March 20 as International Happiness Day "in recognition of the important role happiness plays in the lives of people around the world."

To commemorate this date, the polling house De las Heras Demotecnia carried out the following exercise, to find out how happy Mexicans are today, and what aspects make them feel fuller. This survey was carried out by telephone at the national level on March 13 to people over the age of 17, prior to the announcement of the WHO regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the survey, seven out of ten Mexicans admit feeling happier compared to other moments in their lives, while 17% agreed to be less happy today. For their part, 11% feel just as happy.

Happiness depends on many aspects of life such as family and emotional relationships, a stable job, health or a stable financial situation. Currently, 67% of Mexicans are happy with their occupation or profession, 66% are very happy with their physical appearance and finally, according to the survey, 27% of those interviewed are happy with their current income, 37% They are happier to a lesser extent, and 29% flatly acknowledged feeling unhappy with their current financial situation.

These are the aspects that cause the most happiness to Mexicans

Health, money or love, what produces the greatest happiness for Mexicans? Continuing with the exercise, De las Heras Demotecnia asked, between two specific situations, which one caused them the most happiness, for example; These prefer to have a lot of free time, even if it implies having little money (67%), over having a lot of money, but little free time (33%); or, to be among many people (51%), to be alone or alone (49%).

For their part, 51% find it more satisfying to buy a new home than to travel around the world (49%); while for 58%, it is more pleasant to go to the movies than to watch Netflix (42%). Between money and love, 58% prefer to win the lottery to find the love of their life (42%); or 59% would rather travel to the future than visit the past (41%).

Continuing with the survey, eight out of ten Mexicans acknowledged getting angry between zero and five times a day, while 6% of the respondents mentioned that they get angry six to ten times a day.

However, despite the fact that in the day there are many situations that can cause anger, 41% of Mexicans acknowledge that more than ten times a day they remember a situation that makes them feel happy.

Taking stock of their lives, 90% of Mexicans affirm that they have lived more happy moments than sad moments.

How happy are Mexicans with the current government?

A few months ago President Andrés Manuel López Obrador mentioned in a conference that: "the people of Mexico are happy, happy, happy", to which 67% of Mexicans said they disagree, on the other hand, there is 24% that agree with what the president said.

Personally, 33% of those surveyed affirm that they are happier since AMLO came to power, while 20% feel just as happy as before, and 33% of Mexicans outright feel less happiness since the new government arrived.
