Pandemic: A round business for the pharmaceutical industry

The COVID-19 pandemic keeps the world's population on edge. Deaths from the coronavirus exceed 7,000 and the borders in Europe were closed this week, the world economy is also collapsing.

In Mexico, criticisms are raining against the Andrés Manuel López Obrador government, from abroad as well as in internal politics, due to the actions taken against imminent massive contagions, which will gradually take shape, I suppose. The most important thing is that citizens do not panic, which is not easy due to the amount of false news or networks on social networks whose sole objective is to corner people through the medium.

The pandemic on different fronts to the countries, first world, and third world countries face a virus that at the moment continues to be uncontrollable, with everything and that in China considerably decreased the contagion line and is the country with the fewest deaths since the COVID spread- 19, was also the place of origin.

The most vulnerable victims are known to be the elderly. Life expectancy at birth in Mexico is 75 years, according to CONAPO 2019, we are outside the 25 percent of countries with the greatest opportunity to exceed this age. With coronavirus, the sector of the population that is most at risk, the elderly, approximately 16 million, representing 12.8 percent of the Mexican population.

Statistics indicate that one of the main reasons for those who die over 60 years is due to problems of the circulatory system, followed by endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases; then tumors, diseases of the respiratory system and diseases of the digestive system, factors for the virus to attack this sector severely.

President López Obrador has reiterated on several occasions that health is an inalienable right, all Mexicans have the service of different organizations, such as IMSS, ISSSTE and the newly formed Insabi. In addition, AMLO stated that one of its commitments would be to improve, within a period of three years, the health system in Mexico, to the level they have in Denmark or Canada.
