Elements of the Directorate of Public Security and Traffic of Ecatepec arrested two men, one of them apparently related to the theft of a vehicle in the Ciudad Azteca neighborhood, a crime that was exhibited on social networks after being caught by neighboring security cameras. According to the images of the security recordings, the events occurred at 5:48 p.m. on April 28, when two subjects threatened the driver of a recent model Chevrolet truck and stripped him of it.
Almost immediately, the images were broadcast on social networks and shared dozens of times by Internet users. Hours later, one of the alleged criminals was arrested by the municipal police when he committed another robbery, along with another man. The apprehension of the two subjects occurred on Adolfo López Mateos Avenue, at the height of the Jardines de Cerro Gordo neighborhood, where a citizen on board a taxi was paired with a patrol and asked for support, as moments before he was stripped of his car Spark 2019 by three subjects who fled meters ahead.
After identifying the stolen vehicle and realizing that it was being escorted by a Hyundai car, the uniformed officers began the persecution managed to block both units in the Granjas Populares de Guadalupe neighborhood when the subjects tried to leave the avenue. When cornered, the occupants of the Spark and the vehicle with which they had committed the robbery were searched by the municipal police, finding in their possession a replica of a firearm and a knive, which, according to the victim, they used to intimidate him and take away his car.
