The Institute of Educational Infrastructure of Morelos imposes quarantine on its workers in exchange for vacations

April 3rd, 2020

Workers of the State Institute of Educational Infrastructure Morelos (INEIEM) denounced that from the administration and human resources area they intend to force them to quarantine on account of their vacation days.

The INEIEM issued a circular with registration DAyF / 015/2020 signed by Yolanda Hernández Tecuapa, in charge of the Office of the Directorate of Administration and Finance, dated March 24, where it informs staff that “work is suspended on 9 and 10 April derived from Easter 2020 and for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the death of General Emiliano Zapata Salazar ”. And they are also informed that "the base personnel will enjoy a holiday account on April 6, 7 and 8 of this year, so they are required to present their duly requested and signed form."

A recommendation is added, "it is important that you present your vacation format in advance so that they are applied and considered." The circular was placed on the notice board, with no possibility of receiving more feedback than the information in the document. A worker, who agreed to give his testimony anonymously to avoid retaliation, explained that despite the risk of contact with people due to the coronavirus pandemic and the presidential instruction to suspend non-essential activities.

"They keep forcing us to work and to have meetings and contact with personnel from other agencies." For example, in the technical, administrative and legal areas, they continue in field activities and in offices, where it is impossible to keep a meter and a half away.

Approximately 50 people face this situation.

And curiously since last week José Silva Bandala, CEO of INEIEM has been absent from the offices. The affections called on Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco to intervene. "What we want is for them to realize that they are exposing us and the activity we carry out is not essential at this time, we also have the same rights as all other government workers, we ask the governor to give us certainty," said one of the nonconformists, who also preferred to keep their identities.
