Locals of the Alfeñique Fair launched a call to the population, to carry their containers or bags for purchases, because the use of plastics and polystyrene in purchases, is already limited in the capital since last February.
Due to the above, the artisans of the Alfeñique, ask the Toluqueños and visitors, to carry ecological containers and bags for their purchases and contribute with it, to protect the environment.
In this way, they also seek to contribute to the fulfillment of the new official provision established in the Municipal Band of Toluca, which entered into force last August 2019.
The tenants endorse this regulation because in addition to favoring the care of the environment, it generates savings for them as they spend on biodegradable bags that have a higher price.
It should be noted that during the first weekend of the fair, the corridors of Los Portales were observed with less plastic waste than other years, a situation attributed to this measure.
Therefore, they invite visitors to bring containers to buy skulls, traditional sweets, ornaments and other items for their Day of the Dead offerings.
