More than 12 tons of tires have been collected in the campaign promoted by the government of Ecatepec, headed by Mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras, to remove them from public roads and prevent them from contaminating the environment or becoming a source of infection.

The campaign "Do not abandon them, do not burn them, old tires go here" began on August 8 and will end on November 5. So that citizens can deliver the tires in 12 collection centers, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The temporary storage center for tires is Derichebourg Recycling México, located in Santa Clara Coatitla, which has all the ecological permits for waste management. So far they add around 2,500 tires collected, with more than 12 tons of weight, which will be transferred to companies to be recycled.
