Municipal police in Ecatepec detained a 26-year-old man, who claimed to be inspector of regulations of the town hall and demanded weekly payment from owners of commercial premises, in exchange for not disturbing them, in the Jardines de Morelos neighborhood.
A merchant asked for support to members of the new cells of the municipal police, dedicated to combat the theft of public transport and cargo, to which he reported that a subject entered his local food and claimed to be an inspector of the area of municipal regulations. So he had to pay a weekly fee or he would be penalized for alleged irregularities.
The events occurred around 7:15 p.m. Monday in the Jardines de Morelos neighborhood in Ecatepec, where the subject deprived 500 pesos in cash and a cell phone to the owner of the commercial establishment.
