May 17th, 2019

For the First time on Ecatepec the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Intersexual, Queer community (LGBTTIQ) rolled out their pride flag as a recognition of their rights and the promotion of the no discrimination on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

The Municipal President Fernando Vilchis has as one of the main cores of his government the equity and respect to sexual diversity of the habitants of the town.

At the age of 13 years old, Estrella Calzada, the current manager of the Sexual Diversity Place on El Ostor town, embraced the fact that she was a trans woman, and that she will continue her life that way, without any insecurities or sadness. And with disregard of the social factors she will face. Five years ago, she was legally recognized as a woman, a great woman, in her own words.
