Journalist critical of the government of Los Cabos is plagiarized and assaulted Mexico City

Mexico City, March 5th, 2020. Last Saturday, February 29, Cristian Pérez Ojeda, director of the digital media Sin Censura Noticias, was the victim of deprivation of freedom and physically assaulted by unknown individuals in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Article 19 reported, in a statement issued tonight.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, the journalist was with his wife in Las Veredas neighborhood. In an interview with ARTICLE 19, Pérez reported that he noticed a vehicle with hooded people were following him. Seeing that the people were stalking him and that they had weapons, he tried to flee but was hit.

They forced him into the van, covered his face, stole his cell phone, and interrogated him with a knife around his neck. According to his testimony, he was asked about his work and when he admitted that it was part of the medium Without Censorship News, he was informed that his family was being watched: “Do not fool yourself, this is for you to know. I have your children, your wife, and your brother guarded. They are going to load the fuck (sic). ”

Minutes later they reached a vacant lot and began to interrogate him again. At the same time, Pérez was beaten and kneeling while they recorded him with cell phones. Again, he was asked by name, by his means and also about the critical position of his environment against the municipal administration: "Who pays you to publish things against the administration?"
