The initiative "The Nine None Moves" launched by groups from the center of the country and the State of Mexico, to protest against femicide and gender violence, but also to make visible the work and contribution of women to national life, has begun to grow and add adherents throughout the country, with various turns or variants.
In the case of the State of Mexico, the proposal that arose in protest at the wave of bloody femicides that plagues Mexico City and the metropolitan area has begun to have a social impact, with the sum of various sectors including the official ones. Thus, universities, groups, work centers, schools, and institutions have been added to the mobilization, the first of its kind in Mexico.
It should be noted that figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEGI) estimate that gender violence affects just over 60% of women throughout Mexico, while in the State of Mexico, it has shown a tendency towards up and stands at about 73%. On the other hand, official data indicate that in the last two years alone, that is, between 2018 and 2019, at least 940 women were killed in the State of Mexico. Yes, 940 women based or originally from Edomex, died victims of femicide or malicious murder (in the end the criminal categories no longer matter).
