The National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (CONAVIM), decreed the second "Gender Alert" for seven municipalities in the State of Mexico, but this time for the "disappearance" of women, after considering that the government of the State of Mexico, did not comply with the measures previously requested last April to ensure full security for Mexicans in these demarcations.
Now the Edomex government must attend 26 measures to resolve, prevent and address the disappearance of girls, adolescents and women in these seven municipalities and throughout the territory, since the resolution obliges it to implement long-range actions such as a “ reclassification of research folders ”of the last 5 years, in the case of absent women; a search program; the implementation of the declaration of “absence of women” by office; as well as an updated and "public" information system, both for missing women and for disappearances throughout the state.
The municipalities with a new declaration are: Chimalhuacán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, Nezahualcóyotl, Toluca and Valle de Chalco, which already had an alert for violence decreed in July 2015, now have a second.
The resolution was issued since September 20 by CONAVIM, after more than a year of litigating the request promoted by civil associations in charge of "IDHEAS, Strategic Human Rights Litigation and the Mexican Institute of Human Rights.
It was an extensive case-tracking study presented by IDHEAS before CONAVIM, since the first half of 2018, which allowed determining the systematic disappearance of women in the Mexican entity, but with greater incidence in the seven indicated.
