Gender Violence in the State of Mexico has killed 222 women this year, murders of which 42 were typified as femicides and the rest correspond to malicious homicides, said Deputy Karina Labastida Sotelo.
During a session of united commissions of the LX Local Legislature, it was evident that mayors and mayors, with municipalities with gender alert, treat the problem with disdain when absent from the follow-up meetings.
The president of the Special Commission to Combat and Eradicate Violence Linked to Feminicides in the State of Mexico, stressed that in the monthly meetings between the legislature, state government and city councils with Alerts, the mayor sent to the holders of gender or Women's Institute to address the issue.
“In the meetings of the Gender Alert monitoring mechanism, those who would have to attend would be the mayors, and none of these meetings is attended by a single mayor, who they send to the head of the gender units, or the Women's Institutes” revealed the morenista.
