A judge of the State of Mexico, issued sentence number four against the serial killers of the entity, who concentrated their criminal activities in the municipality of Ecatepec, where they perpetrated an undetermined number of murders and dismemberments of women.
This fourth sentence is related to the death of a woman in July last year, also in Ecatepec, for which they were sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The Prosecutor General of Justice of the Edomex, informed that it contributed diverse elements of evidence so that the participation and responsibility of the feminicida couple will be accredited, in this case, reason why finally the judge decreed their guilt and imposed fines of 56 thousand 534 pesos and 193 thousand 508 pesos as reparation for material damage.
Both were found guilty of the crime of feminicide, on the offense of a woman, on July 26, 2018, in a building in the municipality of Ecatepec.
Through a statement, the authorities said that Hernández Bejar and Martínez Bernal were arrested on October 4, 2018, in the streets of the Jardines de Morelos neighborhood, in Ecatepec, when they were carrying a stroller in which they transported human remains, for what were presented to the Public Prosecutor's Agent, who initiated the respective investigation folder and then sent them before a Judge at the Ecatepec Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center.
As a result of his detention, searches were carried out in two homes located in the referred municipality, in these properties, more human remains were found, of which, after carrying out various expert tests, several female victims were identified.
RELATIONSHIP OF JUDGMENTS
On May 20, 2019, they were sentenced to four years and six months in jail for the crime of trafficking in persons in the form of illegal adoption, for the sale of a baby to a couple.
On the subsequent June 11, they received the first 40-year sentence for femicide, then on June 19 they were also sentenced to another 40 years for another femicide. On August 7, they were sentenced to 70 years in prison for the femicide of a woman and her minor daughter. Now they received a 40-year sentence for another femicide, for which they now add five sentences against him, with a total of 194 years in prison.
In addition, they face three more processes against them for the crime of feminicide, as well as one more for forced disappearance committed by individuals.
