In accordance with the General Law of Guarantee of women´s to a Life Free of Violence and his Regulation, Alfredo del Mazo Maza – governor of the State of Mexico – notified the CONAVIM (National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women), that his administration accepts and will answer to the Recommendations of the Group of Work formed in order to answer to the Request of Alert of Gender Violence against Women by disappearance.

The Governor instructed the Secretary of Justice and Human Rights, Rodrigo Espeleta, to coordinate the elaboration of a multidisciplinary public policy with concrete actions and measurable indicators that will allow monitoring and evaluating its results in order to accomplish such recommendations.

With the acceptance of the recommendations altogether with the coordinated work that has been instructed to accomplish it, the governor renews his commitment with the wellbeing, security, and respect of girls, teenagers and women´s rights. Furthermore, he underlines that his government will not tolerate gender violence.

Such considerations were settled down in a report elaborated by Group of Work formed in order to answer to the Request of Alert of Gender Violence against Women by the disappearance. This group is integrated by female scholars with wide expertise on the matter as well as by public and federal servers and the holder of the Women´s state council and social wellbeing.

In order to accomplish its development, this group undertook several visits to the municipalities of Chimalhuacán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Ecatepec de Morelos, Ixtapaluca, Nezahualcóyotl, Toluca de Lerdo and Valle De Chalco where the request was held.

Also, he gathered information about the Government of the State of Mexico, studied the context of the municipalities and undertook several interviews during the in situ visits, with the organisms that requested the alert as well as with specialist in forensic anthropology and psychosocial intervention and indirect victims.

The report was delivered to the State Justice Department executive the last October 15 for assessment. The report contains political recommendations that aim to make the Government of the State of Mexico develop a public policy regarding gender perspectives and human rights that allows preventing the incidence of disappearances; undertake investigations, apply penalties with all due diligence and offer support to the victims until achieving absolute damage repair.

According to the General Law Regulation, the Government of the State of Mexico must report CONAVIM about the fulfillment of the political recommendations in six months period, so the organization can determine whether the Declaration of Gender Violence because of Women Disappearance will be activated or not.
