A raged group of around 300 people tried to lynch two women (between 30 and 40 years old) who were accused of children kidnapping.

The facts happened at 16.00 hours last Friday at La Pastora community, in Ocuilan municipality where two women, allegedly accused of steal kids were around, they were intercepted by a group of neighbors who spread the word quickly and practically they kidnapped them and dragged them till the village’s main square where the people started to insult and hit them both.

The two women got terrible beaten up by women, men and children that were on the place while the local police tried to make a first rescue, however, they were overcome because of the number of people congregated at the square, who attacked the officers and didn’t allow them to success with the rescue of the two women.

At 17.00 hours state police elements and patrols arrived to the place and through an operative they achieved to rescue the two women who were taken to the IMSS Hospital in Malinalco seriously injured.

In the square there was also the Mayor of Ocuilan, Félix Linares, who couldn’t go out on time from the place of aggression so the people started to beat him up too.

The Mayor achieved to leave the place around 21.00 in the evening and after he went to Toluca to be assisted.

It is expected that on Saturday, Félix Linares will give a press conference to give details of the situation. The victims’ health is reported as critical.

People on the square burned out a patrol and attacked the local police, since they didn’t want to leave the two women.

Ocuilan is among the 12 municipalities declared as disaster zone after the earthquake on last September 19th.
