The former governor of the State of Mexico, Eruviel Ávila became the state’s governor on September 2011 and he finished last 15th of September. He, among his achievements, had the historical record of getting the highest rank of votes in the entity, reached by his party (PRI) when he started his administration, but also the worst after he finished, since the PRI party became the second political force, replaced by Morena party.

As PRI’s state leader, his time was quite short (only 4 months), from the 18th of April of 2006 till August 18th of the same year, while Enrique Peña was already governor.

On 2011 elections, the “Unidos por ti” coalition headed by Eruviel Ávila along PVEM and Nueva Alianza parties, gave him the triumph with 3’018,588 votes, which is the 61.97% of the total submitted votes, however, numbers were dropping as his administration was going.

Likewise, on 2012 halfway elections, already as a governor, he achieved to strengthen his party’s winning since it got 2’800,483 votes along PVEM and NA parties, this was the 41.63% of the votes; then on 2015 elections to renovate the local Congress and the city halls, it got 1’862,534 votes.

In last elections though, if the PRI party achieved with the support of 3 other parties to get the state governor with 2’040,000 votes, slightly over Morena party which got 1’871,542 suffrages; if we consider the votes per party, it comes out a big strike against PRI since it got 995,347 votes, quite far from what Morena got.
