More than 800 tons of tires were rescued from the garbage and from the public highway of Ecatepec to be recycled, almost a year of the municipal government permanently the program to remove this type of waste and prevent them from becoming sources of infection and problems public health.

In August 2019, the mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras arranged the program "Do not abandon them, do not burn them, old tires go here", due to a large number of abandoned tires in the streets, green areas and other spaces of Ecatepec. Acoyani Baroco Bonilla, director of municipal environment and ecology, reported that the program will be implemented on a permanent basis and municipal workers who register the communities to collect old tires.

A record that tires pollute the environment and are changed in spaces where mosquitoes that transmit various diseases reproduce, as well as other types of harmful fauna.

Environmental personnel registers the main roads of our municipality in search of these wastes, which they control are thrown onto public roads, parks, and green areas by the residents of the town, which are collected and taken to their final deposit or deliver them for reuse.
