16 thousand in Edomex are fired and 346 thousand in the whole country, for COVID19

April 8th, 2020

Between March 13 and April 6, 346 thousand formal jobs have been lost in Mexico due to the health contingency by COVID19, of which just over 16 thousand positions correspond to the State of Mexico, where the government Mexicans have deployed a policy of massive support, but for their party's co-religionists, the PRI.

In fact, the Mexican entity is among the six entities in the country with the highest loss of jobs nationwide, along with Quintana Roo, Mexico City, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas, according to a special report from the federal government. The first special report for job losses in Mexico as a result of the coronavirus pandemic places the Mexican entity among the states in the country where more companies decided to fire their staff amid the health contingency and despite the call from the federal government, to keep workers in their jobs.

The entities that have lost the most jobs are Quintana Roo, with 63,847 lost jobs; Mexico City, with 55 thousand 591; Nuevo león with 23 thousand 465, Jalisco, with 21 thousand 535; State of Mexico, with 16 thousand 036 lost jobs and Tamaulipas with 12 thousand 652 dismissed workers. Among the companies that have massively laid off personnel in the Mexican entity are, above all, construction companies and companies that provide cleaning services in government offices and companies, and who certainly pay little to their modest employees.
