Professor Felix, do you still want me to sit on your legs? questions a student who placed this anonymous message in the “clothesline” of the UAEMex High School Adolfo Lopez Mateos, while another, says that “Master Sergio de la Torre sees the students as a sexual object ”, other than“ Professor Miguel Ángel Pérez, said that it was inevitable to think about touching my partner… ”and another reads:“ I bent down to carry my supplies and the teacher told me, get down more ”, and the incidents continue, in an endless narrative of abuse by teachers. The most emblematic of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico, in the upper-middle level.
The complaints, written on sheets of school notebooks, are written testimonies of victims whose ages are between 15 and 17 years of age. Abuse, harassment, and excess of teachers have left a dent in the esteem of the students who had to endure abuse in the classrooms, or the halls of the institution, alone or in front of the group.
Apparently it is a phenomenon that had been happening for several years in that educational space, but nothing was talked about, the victims felt ashamed. However, thanks to the strength of the feminist movements in the country, the students decided to break the silence and creatively, they launched the “I do believe you” initiative, which already accompanies this Tuesday, other institutions that have joined to the strike.
The clotheslines of the High School, apparently are only the tip of the Iceberg, because according to students this morning in the Biarritz restaurant, other schools such as Preparatoria no 3 and the Facultad de Ciencias de la Conducta have begun to exhibit the piglet Under the carpet.
