Authorities of Zinacantepec and Toluca agreed to implement joint security measures, including filters and coordinated operations, on avenues and access roads that they share in their border strip.
During a joint session on security and with the assistance of state authorities, the mayor of Zinacantepec, Gerardo Nava, summarized that work will be done on the creation of an inter-municipal strip to address security issues, territorial boundaries, and service provision.
It was also agreed to strengthen the coordination of efforts between government entities of public security in the three areas of government; the foregoing in the framework of the V Ordinary Session of the Intermunicipal Public Security Council of the XVII Toluca Region.
During the meeting, the host mayor ratified his commitment to create a common front with Toluca authorities, to combat insecurity in the area, as well as to continue working to strengthen the strip shared by both municipalities.
