The criminal incidence in Metepec maintains its minimum levels of crime, as a result of the confinement due to the Coronavirus pandemic, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.

During the month of May, 405 crimes were registered in Metepec, two crimes less than in April, with 405 incidents. Both months represent a decrease with respect to the first three years of the year, which registered 514, 545, and 500 cases in January, February and March, respectively. It is also a decrease of 44.6% compared to the same month last year, which had 586 crimes.

However, intentional homicides reappeared, then there were no cases registered in April, two cases were recorded in May, which makes it the second month with the highest incidence of intentional homicides, after February. Wrongful homicides, on the other hand, are in the second consecutive month with no incident recorder.

Intentional injuries also continue their downward trend, as 49 cases were registered in April (a notable decrease after the 77 cases in March), and 36 were registered in May. Also being the month with the fewest incidents of this type.

However, sexual abuse increased, accounting for six cases in May, compared to the four that were registered in April, although this same month it also represented an increase compared to March, with three cases. The same case in violation, since in May two cases were registered, in March and April only one incidence had been reported, each month.

Also, drug dealing, which did not appear in April, experienced an increase to two cases in May, similar to those in March, the same with two incidents.

On the other hand, family violence cases, which had peaked at 25 reports in April, dropped to 22 in May, which is still a high number compared to the 20 cases on March, 18 in February and 19 in January. Extortion is also part of the crimes that peaked in April, with ten cases, to experience a decrease in May, with seven cases.
